Dr Steve Pawsey

Chief Medical Officer

Steve Pawsey joined NeRRe Therapeutics as Chief Medical Officer in January 2017. An anaesthetist by training, Steve has extensive experience in the global pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, having worked in a broad range of development and medical positions in a career approaching 30 years.

His leadership roles have encompassed all elements of development including responsibility for clinical and pre-clinical development, drug safety and regulatory affairs across multiple therapeutic areas. Steve’s biotechnology company experience includes senior positions at UK companies Circassia, Vernalis and Pharmagene. He began his industry career working at Upjohn Laboratories, followed by several years with Abbott Laboratories in Chicago before returning to the UK to join Roche.

Steve was also CMO at KaNDy Therapeutics, a Women’s Health company.  KaNDy was acquired by Bayer Pharmaceuticals in September 2020.

He holds a medical degree from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine and was formally a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
