Dr Mike Trower CSO KaNDy Therapeutics will be giving an invited presentation entitled: ‘ Switching off the heat: A novel, rapidly acting and effective non-hormonal approach to treating hot flashes and other symptoms of the menopause with neurokinin-1,3 receptor antagonism’ at the 18th International Congress of Endocrinology, Cape Town, South Africa taking place from 1st-4th December, 2018. As the utility of NK-3 antagonism in reducing hot flashes is now established, the presentation will focus on the role that the SP/ NK-1 receptor system may play in addressing menopausal vasomotor symptoms. In addition an overview of the potential additional beneficial effects of NK-1 receptor blockade on other bothersome menopausal symptoms will be described.
